Vision Expo East- April 1 & 2
Morley is back from Vision Expo East in New York and here is what he has to say about his weekend.
the Duffy alarm clock in Webster, NY woke up Samantha and Joe at 3:00A.M. Saturday morning, and Morley woke up at 3:45 A.M. Joe and Samantha pickup up Morley at exactly 4:45 A.M. in the pouring rain. No one got scanned at the airport, and JetBlue left on time at 6:00 A.M. and got in early to JFK at 7:10 A.M. The pilot announced "welcome to Honolulu" followed by a pause and then "April Fools."
We found our Carmel car quickly and on the way to NYC the sun came out and we had blue skies and 70's all weekend. We got to the Salisbury Hotel where the three of us had breakfast and then we left Samantha at the "twofer" line for Broadway tickets and kept walking down 7th Avenue towards 34th Street to the Jacob Javitts Center where Vision Expo was happening.
We were at about 37th St. when we heard our names being called, and it was Tamra from One Hip Chic who joined us in our walk to the Javitts Center.
Morley met Joyce Daniels from Larue. She is sending us some new colorful readers and a special black +200 lipstick Reader for Dr. Wells.
As Joe was checking his coat he ran into Rich Levy, Rich's daughter Kate, and Marilyn from Eye Openers. Joe and Morley got their name badges and spent the next half hour trying to find the Shamir new product presentation that was to start at 10:00 A.M. It was too late when they finally did find it but they were able to get the necessary information.
So it was on to the show floor where Marie and Loretta from Eyedentity Eyewear were spotted. It was on to the StyleEyes booth were they were approached by Jenny LaBrake from Sidney Hillman. Then Bruce Mapes from 20/20 Optical appeared and they all walked over to Essilor where Bruce was able to talk with Mike Daley, President of Essilor Lenses, about his love affair with the VX Physio 360.
John McPherson from Vestal Eyecare came along with his wife and he too raved about the new VX Physio and Physio 360. Also at the Essilor booth were Lori, Kim, Barb and Lori(there are two Loris) from Ocusight, and Dr. Lou Baskin and Dave Debellis.
It was time to go to the Transitions booth with Carol Schartner from 12:30-1:30 where we met Steve Edelstein from Rochester Eye Center, Bob Campbell from Jamison Eyecare, Susie Green from Dr. Michael Raff's office, Kathy Parsons and Darcie Zorn from Spectrum Eyecare, Mike Kather from Sidney Hillman Health Center, Shannon from Dr. Christine Platt, Rich Hughes from Beitler Mckee in Pittsburgh, Debbie and Jennie from Eye Openers,Jean & Bill Bergstrom,Tina, and Jamie from Burnt Hills Optical, Dr. Milton Chasin and his son, Dr. Joel Greenberg and his wife Marilyn, Christie Walker from Lab Talk, Roopy and Diane from The Sacco Eye Group, Cindy Jones and Chris Fobare from Drs.
