My Cataract Surgery

A couple of months ago I wrote of my need to have my right natural lens replaced as a result of a cataract. At that time I was researching whether or not to go into an IOL with a built in reading or intermediate correction as well as in distance. On July 12th I had my surgery and I am thrilled with the results. I decided on the monofocal lens because there seemed to be too many issues with the other choices. Now, I am awaiting the time to do the left eye, which should be in about one month. To deal with anisometropia I am wearing a contact lens in my left eye. While I've never worn a contact lens before this temporary solution seems to be working out very well. For intermediate and near vision I have made up single vision "readers" but am in the process of making up a Shamir Office which will give me both the reading and intermediate vision. Stay tuned.
