First Testimonial on Physio 360

Bruce from 20/20 Optical just received his own Rx made up in a VX Physio 360, and this is what he has to say about this lens:
"The closest thing to emmetropia I have ever had. Driving with them is like going down the road in an Imax movie. Peripheral vision is enhanced so much I cannot believe it.
It's wild; this is absolutely the best pair of lenses I have ever worn. I can see so well; everything is just so crisp and sharp." Bruce M. is a NYS licensed optician practicing for 34 years and is a very exacting optician.

Shamir Piccolo 1.67 Transitions V Gray

Shamir Insight has announced the introduction of Piccolo Hi-index Superlite 1.67 Transitions V Gray on January 23rd. The Superlite 1.67 formula is based on the MR-10 monomer. Shamir says this formula enables the creation of fully aspheric, asymmetric progressive lenses that are 30% thinner and lighter than other lenses made out of regular plastic material.

This promotion will reward eye care professionals with $167,000.00 which will be distributed among the lucky 167 eye care professionsals.
From January 15th through June 30th each time an ECP orders a Shamir SuperLite 1.67 lens he/she is automatically entered for a chance to win a share of $167000.00. Just click on this link to register.

Shamir GenesisTM and Piccolo® were ranked #1 by an independent study conducted at Ohio State University, School of Optometry and published in Optometry, Journal of the American Optometric Association

Varilux expects this product to be the replacement for both Comfort and Panamic.
also introduced was Crizal Alize` with Clear Guard, an anti static addition to the Crizal alize` coating stack.

We're off to the Varilux National Sales Meeting

Joe Duffy and I will be leaving Wednesday, January 4th to attend the Varilux National Sales Meeting in Phoenix ,AZ. where we will learn all about the new Varilux Physio Progressive Lens. Hopefully, we will be able to tell you more about it later in the week after we return on Saturday.

Letter from Essilor about new Physio launch

On January 9, 2006 you will be able to offer your customers Varilux Physio, an advanced lens which revolutionizes progressive lens technology. While Varilux Physio represents true innovation in both design and digital surfacing, it is the impact on the wearer's vision that is most dramatic. Varilux Physio provides unsurpassed sharpness in all fields of vision: near, intermediate and distance. Clinical tests show 2 out of 3 wearers prefer Varilux Physio over either Varilux Panamic or Varilux Comfort.

Essilor offers Varilux Physio in two ways:

  • Varilux Physio with an advanced patented design and traditional surfacing.

  • Varilux Physio 360 with an optimized back side through patented 360 digital surfacing.

These lenses are so accurate and advanced, they come with the most sophisticated anti-reflective, already built in – Crizal Alizé with Clear Guard which redefines the anti-reflective category with advance system to help lenses stay cleaner longer.

At launch, Varilux Physio and Varilux Physio 360 are available in the following materials:

  • Thin&Lite 1.67 (clear and Transitions V) with a power range of -12.00 to +9.00 and base curves of 1.75, 2.75, 3.75, 5.25, 6.50, and 8.00. The add power range is 0.75 to 3.50 & 4.00.
