Important Lab Request

We prefer to have a frame with an Rx to guarantee accurate fit. When lenses only are ordered we have had too many situations where the lenses do not fit properly and have to be redone. If it is impossible to send the frame please at least send an accurate circumference as a size guide.

Freeform Technology and Advance Optical

In our December, 2006 Advance Notice Newsletter we asked you which Freeform lenses you would prefer to sell. The top three noted are: Physio 360, Kodak Unique, and Shamir Autograph. All of the Freeform offer more precise optics due to the special manufacturing process.

Advance Approved to Sell Kodak Unique

We received the call from our signet Armorlite account rep that Advance Optical has been approved to sell the Kodak Unique Progressive. This is especially timely as many of you expressed interest in this lens on our M&M survey. This lens is of a freeform process that allows synchronized customization of the front and back surfaces providing excellent optics to the patient. All Kodak Unique Lenses come with Kodak CleAR Coating. This PAL is available in a complete range of lens materials. All surfacing is done at the Signetek Lab in California.

Panamic in Ormex is being Phased Out

As previously noted Essilor is in the process of phasing out 1.56 Ormex material.
This includes single vision, ST28, Natural and Comfort, and now Panamic.

Sola Compact Ultra at 13 High

Sola is bringing to market a new PAL to be fit at 13 high.Continuing on the phenomenal success of the AO Compact the Ultra will offer one of the lowest minimum fitting heights available. At a minimum fitting height of 13mm, a frame B measurement of at least 20mm is recommended in order to provide sufficient distance utility above the fitting cross.
The lens will be available in materials of CR-39 clear and Transitions Gray, polycarbonate and polycarbonate Transitions Gray, and 1.67 index clear and Transitions Gray. Add powers are .75-3.50 except in polycarbonate where availability is .75-3.00.

Top Selling Progressive Lenses for November

Our top ten list for November is very similiar to the previous month.
Physio continues to be strong remaining in 2nd place, and Physio 360 continues to be our most successful product with zero non-adapts and only one Dr. redo for the month. We have accounts that are making the Physio 360 the first choice of PAL because they want to offer the very best. If you haven't tried this product yet you may want to think about doing that.
